The Manchester City striker has called on football authorities to use this technology across the entire field of play, including on throw-ins, as he believes many teams can cheat by encroaching on the field to throw the ball.
In an interview with Manchester City’s official podcast, he said: “The first is using touchline technology all over the pitch , so you always know when the ball is out of play. But what bothers me are these throw-in.”
“If you throw one way or another, it doesn’t matter. Just make sure you have two hands on the ball. I don’t even know the rules and if I was going to throw, I’d probably do it wrong. But It doesn’t matter if you throw the ball straight down, straight up or whatever. I’m going to change that.”
“Besides, you can’t cheat too many meters, there has to be a limit to how far you can cheat. I think it will be the same in the future.”
Haaland will next feature for Norway when they take on Slovenia before returning for City’s big match against Premier League rivals Arsenal.
