And recent events suggests that the family has been forging links with the Sussexes, as the two families have been sharing some unexpected links.
It’s known Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland is acquaintances with ‘momager’ Kris Jenner and her A-list daughter Kim after the trio were spotted chatting during a recent glitzy charity event in Los Angeles.
But this star-studded meet-up is not the only link the Duchess of Sussex, 42, has with the Kardashian-Jenners.
Recently, her husband Prince Harry, 39, was spotted enjoying a spot of ski-ing with 68-year-old Kris Jenner’s boyfriend Corey Gamble, 43.
And Kim recently took to Instagram to poke fun at Kate Middleton, who has barely been seen since her abdominal surgery in January.
Kim and Meghan are reported to have a number of friends in common – including the same hairdresser – and have even shared the same bodyguard.
Here, FEMAIL take a look at some of the similarities shared by the Duchess and the LA royalty…
PRINCE HARRY TAKES TO THE SLOPES WITH COREY GAMBLE
In another sign that the Sussexes are becoming closer to the Kardashian-Jenners, Prince Harry was spotted skiing with Kris’ boyfriend Corey Gamble.
The Duke, 39, is understood to have been enjoying the glories of Aspen, America’s swankiest ski resort in Coloradon, in the company of business executive Corey Gamble.
A source said that Harry had been hitting the slopes with Gamble, as well as Bumble dating app billionaire Whitney Wolfe, 34, and her husband Michael Herd, whom she met on a previous skiing trip.
However, there has been no sign of Meghan on the pistes: she has been too busy relaunching herself as an online guru with cookery and lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard.
CATCHING UP WITH THE KARDASHIANS
Meghan’s mother Doria was snapped speaking with ‘momager’ Kris Jenner and her daughter Kim Kardashian at a recent star-studded event.
The event came amid news that Meghan was gearing up to return to social media with a new Instagram account that could see her earn up to $1 million per post.
Indeed, the Duchess has now launched a lifestyle brand – called American Riviera Orchard – which has amassed 529,000 followers since its launch several days ago.
Her last account, which she shared with husband Prince Harry, @sussexroyal, had 9.4 million followers before it was deactivated in 2020 when the couple quit being senior Royals.
It was thought that the handle of the Duchess’ new account would simply be @Meghan.
Before the launch of lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard, a source told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Everyone in Hollywood is talking about the re-launch being imminent. Meghan has never made any secret of the fact she wants to return to Instagram.’
Prior to her 2018 marriage to Prince Harry, Suits actress Meghan’s personal Instagram following stood at more than three million, while tens of thousands of fans signed up for her now-defunct lifestyle blog The Tig.
Meghan first announced she was planning a return to Instagram in an interview with The Cut last year, telling writer Allison P Davis: ‘Do you want to know a secret? I’m getting back on Instagram.’
If Meghan wants to boost her half million or so followers she need look no further than Kim’s incredible success on the platform.
The reality star has a jaw dropping 363 million followers where she is known for posting fashionable snaps of her latest looks, as well as more candid photos with her children.
KIM’S ‘JIBE’ AT KATE MIDDLETON
Kim Kardashian seems to have made a jibe at Kate MIddleton, who has barely been seen since her abdominal surgery in January.
Amid speculation over the Princess’ whereabouts, Kim posted a series of photos of herself – along with the caption ‘on my way to go find Kate’.
In the images, she is seen wearing tour t-shirt from the ‘Up in Smoke Tour’, originally called ‘The Boyz in the Hood’, a legendary tour in 2000 which included the best rap and hip hop artists of the time, such as Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Eminem.
The post comes a day after it was revealed that Prince Harry – Kate’s brother in law – was in Aspen, California skiing with Corey Gamble – the boyfriend of Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian’s mother.
A source said that Harry had been hitting the slopes with Gamble, as well as Bumble dating app billionaire Whitney Wolfe, 34, and her husband Michael Herd, whom she met on a previous skiing trip.
This also comes hours after Kate’s friends claimed the Royal couple are ‘shaken and devastated’ at the recent speculation about their marriage on social media and that they may address the Princess of Wales health condition next month.
DIFFERENT STARS, SAME BODYGUARD
Earlier this year, it was reported that security-concious Meghan taken on Kim’s former bodyguard to keep her safe.
The rumours emerged after the Duchess of Sussex was seen with the American reality star’s ex-muscle in May.
Top bodyguards can cost as much as $1,800 a day. Meghan and Harry’s protection stopped being funded by the UK taxpayer in 2020.
Only recently Harry and Meghan had sacked bodyguard Alberto Alvarez, 46, who used to work for Michael Jackson, over worries about drink-driving convictions and a domestic violence allegation.
HAIR DRESSER TWINS
Both Meghan and Kim are known for their beautifully styled tresses – so it’s no wonder that both stars have used the same hair dresser before.
Michael Silva has proudly shared the results of his work on both women on his Instagram, among other stars.
According to People World, Michael was behind Kim’s 2017 Met Gala look, and worked with Meghan’s tresses when she was still on the TV show Suits.
SOCIAL JUSTICE ACTIVISM
Both women have been vocal in social justice activism. Meghan had been involved in charity work as the Duchess of Sussex and has, along with Harry, continued this after they became non-working royals.
Meghan has spoken up about issues regarding women’s rights, racial equality and conservation while Kim has done tireless work on campaigns around the treatment of incarcerated people.
Both women voiced their concerns following The Supreme Court’s overruling of the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade decision in a move that heavily restricted abortion rights for women across the US last summer .
Meghan shortly after revealed she is willing to go to Washington DC to join protests against the ruling and urged people to vote in the November midterms in another big step into US politics backed by her ‘feminist’ husband Prince Harry.
In addition, both women have worked with Spotify on podcasts that look at social issues.
Meghan’s podcast Archetypes, which has now moved to platform Lemonada after her deal with Spotify was ended, aimed to examine how labels can hold women back.
Meanwhile, Kim’s production The System uncovers stories about people who have been wrongly convicted.
She is known to have an interest in the justice system and is currently studying law, passing the Baby Bar exam in 2021.
