On Sunday, The Kardashians producer-star Kim Kardashian unveiled the latest masterpiece – a painting of a beach at sunset – by her daughter North West.
Things didn’t go so well the last time the 42-year-old SKIMS CEO publicly shared artwork created by the precocious 10-year-old, who rocked a T-shirt of herself at Nobu Malibu last Friday.
Back in 2021, Kim proudly posted then seven-year-old North’s Bob Ross-style landscape oil painting of a mountain range, river, grassy land, and trees.
However, some members of Kardashian’s 484.8M social media following scoffed at the idea, quickly accusing West of painting by numbers or not being ‘the actual artist.’
‘My daughter and her best friend have been taking a serious oil painting class where their talents and creativity are being encouraged and nurtured,’ the Calabasas socialite defended at the time.
‘How dare you see children doing awesome things and then try to accuse them of NOT being awesome!? Please stop embarrassing yourselves with the negativity and allow every child to be GREAT! NORTH WEST PAINTED THAT PERIOTDDDDDABCDEFGZFDT!’
Kim’s CBO of KKW Brands – Tracy Romulus – also publicly defended the avid TikToker, who learned to paint in the same class as her daughter Ryan.
‘They spend weeks at a time on a single painting and are incredibly proud of themselves once they complete a project,’ Romulus explained.
‘They are following a curriculum but the works are original, starting from a blank canvas and each child’s interpretation. Please stop with the negativity and commenting at me with your doubts on a child’s ability. It’s people like you who keep [our] children from dreaming big or reaching their fullest potential.’
Even TikToker Camryn Frederickson – the daughter of North and Ryan’s art teacher Celeste Astor Frederickson – came forward at the time to reveal she learned to paint the same piece from her mother at age seven back in 2006.
Celeste is the owner of For Art’s Sake studio in Westlake Village where students are frequently instructed to paint the same piece.
West is the eldest child of Kardashian and her third husband – canceled rapper-designer Kanye ‘Ye’ West – whom she divorced in 2021 after six years of marriage.
The Atlanta-born 46-year-old’s mini-me famously made her onstage rap debut (a ‘remix’ of ZaZa’s 2019 track What I Do?) during his Yeezy FW/20 presentation at Paris Fashion Week.
Ye and the half-Armenian beauty are also parents of seven-year-old son Saint, five-year-old daughter Chicago, and four-year-old son Psalm.
Last November, the couple formerly known as ‘Kimye’ settled their divorce and 80/20 custody arrangement, which entails him paying her $200K/month in child support.
Little North makes her big-screen acting debut as Junior Patroller pomeranian Mini alongside Kim’s poodle Delores in Cal Brunker’s animated sequel PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie, which hits US theaters September 29 and UK theaters October 13.
The ensemble voice cast includes Mckenna Grace, Taraji P. Henson, Marsai Martin, Christian Convery, Chris Rock, James Marsden, Kristen Bell, Lil Rel Howery, and Serena Williams.
Kardashian will also portray Siobhan Corbyn (a role written ‘specifically written with her in mind’) in the 12th season of American Horror Story: Delicate, which premieres this Wednesday on FX.
Showrunner Halley Feiffer penned every episode of the next installment of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s long-running horror anthology series.
Season 12 is loosely based on Danielle Valentine’s novel Delicate Condition – heavily inspired by Rosemary’s Baby – which hit shelves on August 1.
It will also feature Emma Roberts, Cara Delevingne, Billie Lourd, Denis O’Hare, Leslie Grossman, Matt Czuchry, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, and Zachary Quinto.
The aspiring attorney will also executive produce and star in the 10-episode fourth season of The Kardashians, which premieres September 28 on Hulu.
On May 7, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians spin-off triumphantly won the best docu-reality series trophy at the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards.
