Miami Grand Prix president Tyler Epp said he wanted to bring in the Perfect singer ‘to add another layer of excitement to the event.’
‘From the beginning of this effort, we didn’t want to turn this into a concert where there was a motor race going on,’ he said. ‘That was not the intent.
‘The intent is to create a very full, well-rounded experiences for lots of different kinds of people to come and enjoy an amazing experience our facility,’ Epp added.
The Miami Grand Prix president wanted to preserve the event’s focus on the race while providing something everyone can enjoy.
‘These artists, that draw millions of people around the world with a tour, are coming and giving people a very intimate experience,’ he finished.
Kaytranada, Marc Anthony, Kaskade, Steve Aoki, Don Omar, Kaskade and John Summit are the other musicians slated to take the stage.
In collaboration with local South Florida artists, Formula 1 is teaming up with them to produce a collection of murals and art geared toward the race.
Displays can be seen around the race campus inspiring the public and advertising this weekend’s event.

Qualifying will start afterwards at 4PM ET.
