Thrown at the JW Marriott in LA Live, the event was held in honor of the beneficiaries of Homeboy Industries’ reentry program to integrate prisoners back into society.
This year’s gala had Kim as one of the awardees, recognizing her years of legal activism to help get convicts released from prison.
The aspiring lawyer, whose late father was on OJ Simpson’s legal ‘dream team,’ was the image of old-fashioned showbiz glamour during her latest public appearance.
Swathed in a sumptuous black fur coat, the 43-year-old reality star turned this way and that, allowing her outfit to catch the light.
She swept her silken locks back into a bun, which she complemented with an elaborate pair of drop earrings and flattering makeup.
Her new hairdo was the work of hairstylist to the stars Chris Appleton, who has worked with such top-flight names as Ariana Grande and Jennifer Lopez.
Kim’s advocacy includes visiting the Trump White House to plug the FIRST STEP Act, a prison reform law that resulted in the early release of tens of thousands of criminals.
During this Saturday night’s festivities, she found herself mingling with none other than Hollywood legend and controversial activist Jane Fonda.
She also mingled with Father Greg Boyle, the father of Homeboy Industries, who was in priestly attire including his clerical collar.
As she swanned around the fete, Kim sidled up to Babyface, who accessorized with a cross and wore a jacket with a glittering ‘B’ stitched near one lapel.
Jane, clad in a stunning bejeweled jacket adorned with constellations and paired with sleek black pants, radiated Hollywood chic.
She led a cavalcade of luminaries at the event, including Camilla Belle, Lisa Ling, Jay Ellis, Rainn Wilson and more.
The 9 to 5 star previously opened up about her feelings of aging in the past, and told InStyle in 2022, ‘Turning 85 isn’t any different than turning 84 or turning 86 will be. I’m seriously in the middle of “old.”‘
But once you’re inside of it, as opposed to looking at it from the outside, it’s not all that scary.’
Jane has openly shared her battle with osteoarthritis and, in September 2022, disclosed her third bout with cancer, diagnosed as non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
However, by the end of the year, she provided an uplifting update, announcing that she was in remission, marking a positive turn in her health journey.
‘I’m a curious person, and I’m constantly learning, and I think that’s important,’ Jane also told InStyle.
‘My dad died six years younger than me, and sure, I have cancer, but we’re getting that dealt with with chemo and I feel lucky.’
The activist also spoke to CBS News Sunday Morning during a past interview and explained how growing older doesn’t ‘bother’ the actress.
‘I’m super-conscious that I’m closer to death. And it doesn’t really bother me that much,’ Jane stated. ‘You know, you can be really old at 60, and you can be really young at 85.’
She also discussed why she quit drinking alcohol and explained, ‘If I had a martini tonight, I would be at half-mast tomorrow.’
‘Now, that wasn’t true when I was younger. As you get older, I think alcohol affects you differently.’
The daughter of Henry Fonda continued, ‘And I only have so many tomorrows left. I don’t want to be at half-mast for any of them!’
Jane starred in the films 80 For Brady as well as Book Club: The Next Chapter last year in 2023.
And at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2023, she reflected on the projects, per Vulture, and stated, ‘I’m still amazed that people offer me movies. I’m almost 86 years old.’
‘I normally would not have wanted to make two movies in one year that have four old women in each of them: 80 For Brady, though I finally got to work with Sally [Field], who’s my heroine.’
‘And in Italy, we made Book Club again. But I don’t want to do that anymore,’ Jane admitted.
‘I don’t know what’s coming next, except that I don’t want to do any more movies that don’t challenge me as an actor. I want to be challenged. And I want to play something really complicated.’
No doubt Jane has left an indelible mark on Hollywood with her illustrious career spanning over six decades.
From her breakthrough performances in films like Klute and Coming Home to her iconic role in 9 to 5, Fonda has showcased her versatility as an actress.
Her exceptional talent has earned her numerous accolades, including two Academy Awards for Best Actress for her roles in Klute (1971) and Coming Home (1978).
Jane’s contributions to cinema extend beyond acting; she has also been recognized for her activism and advocacy work, cementing her status as a Hollywood legend.
