With just a few months left until the end of the current season, FC Barcelona has begun planning for the 2024 summer transfer window. They will have to work with a very tight budget, and prioritize selling players over buy.
Recently, director Deco had a meeting with Man United officials. Although details were not released by the parties, the media has been speculating about some of the players they discussed.
Mundo Deportivo newspaper said there are 3 Barcelona players on the Red Devils’ shopping list, including Frenkie de Jong, Alejandro Balde and Ansu Fati.
The Dutch midfielder was tried by Man United to recruit during Erik ten Hag’s first summer at Old Trafford, but failed. Now, with the arrival of billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe, De Jong once again becomes a favorite target.
Alejandro Balde and Ansu Fati are promising stars. Balde is currently sidelined with a long-term ACL injury and is not expected to return to action during the current season. Meanwhile, Fati is currently playing on loan in the Premier League with Brighton.
