Messi’s son scored a super goal to help Inter Miami win the 300-team tournament
Thiago Messi shined to help U12 Inter Miami win the 2024 Easter International Cup.
Easter International Cup 2024 brings together 300 teams across the United States, including many youth teams of professional clubs and about 30 international clubs. The tournament took place in Kissimmee, Florida. U12 Inter Miami reached the final against host team Florida Kraze.
In this match, U12 Inter Miami won with a score of 4-0. Thiago Messi wore shirt number 10 and scored a super goal. This boy escaped to face the goalkeeper and quickly shot, bringing in the opening goal of the match. Playing with Thiago is also Benjamin Suarez, son of Luis Suarez.
Thiago Messi is the eldest son of Lionel Messi. Previously, the boy was not too interested in football, but recently joined the Inter Miami academy. In addition, Messi’s two other sons, Ciro and Mateo, also joined Inter Miami’s Florida Academy.
In January 2020, Thiago attracted attention when he scored his first goal in the FCB Escola Sergio shirt – the U8 team of the Barca Youth Training Academy. From subsequent videos, many people commented that Thiago has a smart playing style, moves quickly and is not afraid to make breakthrough individual moves. Many people believe that Thiago inherited his father’s playing style on the field.
While Thiago Messi and Suarez Jr. tasted their first bit of success in Miami, their father will be absent from the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
Inter Miami host Liga MX giants CF Monterrey in the first leg of the quarter-finals, with Suarez set to play a key role. It is still unknown whether Messi will recover from his hamstring injury in time to join the starting lineup, but his Uruguayan strike partner has asserted that Miami can “win without Messi”.
Lionel Messi joined Inter Miami in 2023. He and his teammates won the CONCACAF Leagues Cup but then could not help their team enter the MLS playoff round in the 2023 season. In the 2024 season, Inter Miami was in high form when is ranked second in the Eastern table with 11 points after 7 matches. However, in matches without Messi, Inter Miami drew and lost.
