The Chiefs quarterback stated that he would prefer encourage people to “do their own research” and “inform people to vote” using his platform.
According to Patrick Mahomes, he has no interest in disclosing his personal political views in public.
Following Donald Trump’s applauding of his wife Brittany Mahomes on Wednesday, September 11, for supposedly standing by him and criticizing Taylor Swift for standing by his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, Patrick was questioned about his political beliefs at a news conference for the Chiefs.
The 28-year-old quarterback told reporters, “I’ve always said, I don’t want my place or my platform to be used to endorse a candidate either way.” “I think my place is to inform people to get registered to vote, to inform people to do their own research and then make their best decision for them and their family.”
Patrick noted that one of the things that “makes America so great” is his ability to remain impartial, saying he’s “going to refer back to that” position “every time” he’s asked political questions.
In response, the three-time Super Bowl champion quarterback said he’s always spent time with people regardless of politics. He was then asked if he and Brittany’s double date to the US Open with Swift, 34, and Travis Kelce was a way to show “that people who have different philosophies” could spend time together.

“Dating back, if you’ve seen my history, I’ve grown up with people from every aspect of life, and every background,” Patrick remarked.
“I think the best thing about a football locker room, and kind of how I’ve grown up in baseball locker rooms, is that people come together and achieve a common goal,” Patrick continued, “and we talked about it a while back but I think if we can do that as a nation, I think we can get the best out of each other.”
When he spends time with someone, the NFL player claimed he’s “not thinking about” their “political views”. Patrick told reporters, “I’m thinking about how they treat other people,” instead.
Patrick responded, “I think at the end of the day, it’s about me and my family and how we treat other people,” to a direct question regarding Trump’s alleged good remarks about Brittany. He also added, “I think you see Brittany does a lot in the community.”
Patrick said, “I can’t let that affect how I go about my business every single day.”

Online criticism reportedly resulted from Brittany’s liking of one of Trump’s August Instagram postings outlining the “2024 GOP platform.”
Then, on Instagram, she responded to her detractors by sharing a passage of text that said, “You have to have some 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥hood traumas or deep-seated difficulties in order to be a hater as an adult. Your brain is not completely formed for no purpose, and you take offense when you see others succeeding.”
Above the text, Brittany wrote, “I mean honestly.”
