While Patrick Mahomes‘s wife Brittany has caused quite the stir in recent days with her potential political leanings, the Kansas City Chiefs star has been more careful to keep his own beliefs out of the headlines.
Brittany, 28, faced backlash last week after eagle-eyed fans spotted that she had liked one of Donald Trump‘s social media posts in an apparent endorsement of his 2024 election campaign.
The pregnant mother-of-two hit back at her critics in a fiery response – something which many feared could put her at odds with her friend and staunch-liberal, Taylor Swift, who has previously criticized Trump.
‘I mean honestly, to be a hater as an adult you have to have some deep rooted issues you refuse to heal from 𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥hood,’ Brittany wrote on her Instagram story – pointedly declining to clarify her political stance.
Meanwhile, according to CBS, Patrick’s Chiefs teammate and Swift’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce, reportedly reached out to Kamala Harris‘s campaign about attending the DNC last week after she replaced President Joe Biden as the party nominee.
In the end, Kelce was present at Kansas City’s preseason game against the Chicago Bears Thursday night – when Harris addressed the convention.

Patrick himself has stayed relatively quiet on political matters in recent weeks, as the race for the White House heats up.
The quarterback has addressed social and political issues in the past but has steered clear of revealing who has his vote.
The 28-year-old joined LeBron James’s ‘More Than a Vote’ campaign to help increase African American voter turnout in the 2020 election between Biden and Trump.
However, back then, the three-time Super Bowl winner did not publicly endorse a candidate.
This year, it seems Mahomes is maintaining the same stance as Trump and Harris vie for the Oval Office.
‘I don’t want to pressure anyone to vote for a certain president,’ Mahomes said in an interview with TIME magazine published last week. ‘I want people to use their voice, whoever they believe in. I want them to do the research.’
In addition to joining James’s ‘More Than a Vote’ project in 2020, Mahomes, along with the Chiefs, pledged to begin a voter registration and involvement project in Kansas City.

Mahomes – along with former Chiefs teammate Tyrann Mathieu, Jackson County and Mahomes’ 15 and the Mahomies Foundation – provided the funding needed to make Arrowhead Stadium an official polling place for the 2020 election.
The majority of Jackson County, where Kansas City is located, voted Democrat in 2020 with almost 60 percent voting for Biden over Trump.
The county has voted Democrat in the last 12 presidential elections. However, Missouri is a predominantly red state.
The Chiefs have been invited to the White House by President Biden the past two years to commemorate their Super Bowl victories in 2023 and 2024.
Mahomes and his teammates had been invited to the White House by Trump following their Super Bowl LIV but did not attend due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic.
