This dog breed is closely related to the Husky, they were domesticated by the Mahlemut tribe, living in Alaska. Later, the Eskimos discovered that they had extremely strong health, so they trained them to pull snowmobiles on long and continuous journeys. The original Alaskan dog was only as big as a Husky. Over thousands of years, people have tried to breed Alaskan dogs to be bigger, stronger and more resilient. Thanks to its extraordinary strength, Alaska has participated in the polar exploration journeys of explorers around the world.
Since the 18th century, Alaskans have been very popular as pets and quickly occupied a position in the top 10 most beautiful ornamental dog breeds in the world. In Vietnam today, Alaskan dogs fall in the price range of 8 – 10 million / individual.
3. Golden Retriever (or Golden) – Hunting dog
Golden is a hunting dog breed originating from England, bred over many generations from many different breeds. Golden is a dog breed with a very strong hunting instinct and the ability to detect traces based on smell very well, so they are used by police in many countries around the world to detect drugs and explosives. Although they are hunting dogs, they are very gentle, friendly, mischievous and extremely loyal to humans. Golden dogs have a balanced and healthy body. The coat has a variety of colors, from creamy yellow to brown (red is not recognized as Golden).

Poodle is a famous duck-hunting and wading dog breed from France (or Germany, origin is unclear). They have very thick, curly fur, which helps them stay warm when diving in European wetlands. Poodle dogs have 3 popular sizes: toy (under 25cm high), mini (25 – 40cm) and standard (over 40cm high). Toy Poodles are classified as one of the most beautiful and adorable dog breeds in the world. 5. German Shepherd (or Becgie) – Sheepdog
German Shepherd is a medium-sized dog breed, weighing 20 – 40kg, 55 – 65cm tall, originating from Germany. This is a fairly new dog breed in the dog family tree, first bred in 1899 in Germany, belonging to the group of herding dogs. Initially bred to herd sheep, they were later trained to serve in the police and military due to their intelligence, strength, agility, loyalty, and ability to obey orders in training. German Shepherd Dog is the most popular service dog breed in police forces in countries around the world.
In Vietnam, many German Shepherd dogs are also trained in crime prevention activities.
6. Labrador Retriever (or Labrador) – hunting dog
Labrador is a popular hunting dog breed in America, often trained to retrieve prey in hunts. In the past, Labrador was a very popular dog breed among Portuguese sailors because they were gentle, friendly, very intelligent and strong, they could help fishermen pull nets and catch fish. In Vietnam, healthy and purebred Labrador dogs are sold for 3 – 5 million. Thai Labradors are sold for 6 – 8 million.
7. Samoyed (or Sam)
Samoyed dogs originate from the Taiga mountainous region, Northwest Siberia – Russia. This dog breed is very closely related to the Husky and Alaska breeds. The Samoyed dog has a strong, flexible body and can continuously pull the cart on very long journeys. The fur is 2 layers thick, the legs are big and strong and sinewy and have the ability to track extremely well in the snow. This dog breed has a high status in Samoyede society, they have a very close bond with the people here, helping them transport food, hunt and fight to protect from enemies. Today, Sam dogs are very popular in European countries, America and Canada and are one of the most beautiful ornamental dog breeds, winning many awards in major dog shows.
Samoyed dogs are gradually becoming popular in Vietnam, Samoyed dogs have adapted quite well to the tropical climate.
8. Chow Chow Dog:
This is a noble-looking dog breed with thick, shaggy fur and a giant physique, giving them the grace and strength of a lion. In particular, their tongues are always blue or black, a very unique characteristic. This dog breed is extremely loyal and aggressive, and is very good at hunting, but they also need a lot of care and love.
9. Miniature Schnauzer:
This is a dog breed with a very special coat, it consists of two layers: a hard and thick layer on the outside, and a soft layer on the inside.
