Kris Jenner shared a loving tribute to her younger sister Karen Houghton following her unexpected death at age 65.
The Kardashian matriarch has said her “heart aches” following the devastating news. Karen was Kris’ only sister and the two girls grew up together in San Diego. They were raised by their mother Mary Jo Campbell after her divorce from Robert Houghton.
Karen chose not to live her life in the limelight and worked as a part-time nurse. She’s believed to have had a complicated relationship with Kris, even sparking a family feud after Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s baby shower for their daughter North West.

Inside Kris and Karen’s feud
Back in 2013, Karen spilled all the details about the event despite signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement. She happily told waiting reports as she arrived that she had a “surprise gift” for the baby.
After the party, she revealed what had been available on the menu. “I ate a marshmallow on a stick! I had cake… it wasn’t a cake, it was roses, we had cookies instead,” she revealed.
Karen was also asked about the goody bag she was given, which she said included a Rolex watch. It was to be the start of her feud with the Kardashian family.
Later that year, Karen claimed Kris had spent an eye-watering $1million (£786,000) on plastic surgery. She told In Touch magazine: “She was heavy as a kid and became worried about her looks at age 15. The whole world knows it – Kris is vain.”

Kris has been very open about the plastic surgery she’s had done. During an appearance on E!’s Good Work in 2015, she said she had “Botox and fillers and lasers.” She added: “And I had a boob job in the 80s after four kids because gravity took over.
In 2014, Karen reignited the feud as she opened up on the breakdown of Kris’ marriage to Caitlyn Jenner, then Bruce Jenner. “Bruce left. He walked out on her, and I think he’s not coming back. He couldn’t take the yelling anymore and stuff,” Karen said on Facebook.
She then added some pretty harsh comments, writing: “Pray for Kris Jenner she needs it…crazy. Shes as nutcase.” Explaining her brutal comments, Karen wrote: “I get p***ed off at her because she doesn’t respond to me. If you think your sister would call you back, she doesn’t. And it hurts me.”
She’s also hit out at Kris’ celebrity status and fortune over the years. However, they reunited in 2019, with Karen’s daughter Natalie sharing a picture of the pair on her Instagram Story.

Karen Houghton’s family explained
Karen is survived by her daughter Natalie, whom she shares with her ex-husband Mark Zettel, mother MJ , Kris, nieces Kourtney, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, and nephew Rob Kardashian.
Kris paid tribute to her sister on Instagram, writing: “It is with the heaviest heart and deepest sadness that I share that my sister Karen passed away yesterday unexpectedly. My heart aches for my mom MJ and my niece Natalie and I pray that God guides us all through this difficult time.”
She added: “Karen was beautiful inside and out. She was the sweetest, kindest, the most sensitive and vulnerable and so so funny. She always felt grateful and thankful for her life and treasured her family and friends and especially her beautiful daughter. She holds such a huge part of my heart and I cherish every single memory we have together.”
She ended the post with: “Karen’s passing is a reminder that life is so short and precious and tomorrow is never promised. We must tell those we cherish how much we love them. I love you my beautiful sister.”
