Real held a grand parade to celebrate the 36th La Liga championship
Thousands of Real Madrid fans flocked to the streets to witness the home team parade to celebrate the 36th La Liga title in the club’s history.
The AS, the bus carrying the entire Real Madrid team, marched through the city’s streets and stopped at Cibeles Square, the traditional celebration location of the Spanish Royal Club. Here, a crowd of fans waited for coach Carlo Ancelotti and his team early.
Real became Spanish champion for the 36th time in history, a tournament record. According to Opta, “Los Blancos” also equaled Juventus’ record of winning the most national championships in the top 5 top European tournaments (36 times).
Notably, coach Ancelotti recreated the famous moment when he wore sunglasses and smoked a cigar while celebrating with his students. This image became viral in 2022, after Ancelotti helped Real win La Liga and the Champions League.
This season, the throne came early to help coach Ancelotti and his team focus maximum attention on the remaining important front, the Champions League.
Jdue Bellingham caused a stir during the celebration ceremony. According to The Sun, the English midfielder spoke fluently in Spanish to the crowd even though he has only come to La Liga to play football since the summer of 2023. He said: “Thank you for your love. We still have a big match at Wembley (Champions League final – PV). Let’s go”.
Bellingham is considered the signing of the season. He scored 20 goals and added 10 assists in all competitions. The former Dortmund star and “Los Blancos” won La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup. He is aiming for the first prestigious Champions League championship in his career.
This season, Thibaut Courtois took a long break due to a torn ligament. He only recently returned to competition. During the Belgian goalkeeper’s absence, Lunin replaced him quite well, helping Real lose only 2 matches since the beginning of the season (both against Atletico Madrid – Reporter).
This summer, veteran defender Nacho will leave the Bernabeu. Meanwhile, Luka Modric is likely to stay with Real for another year. Accepting a reserve role, but always knowing how to shine every time he comes on the field, helps the Croatian midfielder be considered by Real for a new contract.
