The super cute dog is like a ‘father’ protecting the ducks.
Seeing the flock of stray dogs arrive where he lived, he thought that Fred had protected them like a “father and mother.”
The dog named Fred (10 years old) is a Labrador breed and currently lives in Mountfitchet Castle (Essex, United Kingdom).
The staff suddenly discovered a flock of ducklings straying across the castle lawn. Jeremy Goldsmith, director of Mountfitchet Castle, also owner of Fred, said: “Before that we saw a mother duck nesting around here. However, when these ‘little friends’ appeared I couldn’t see the mother duck anywhere.”
Although the staff did not know how to handle the ducklings, the dog Ferd showed interest in playing with the ducklings and protecting them.
Ducks usually hide at the dog’s feet without showing any fear. 
Many castle employees also saw the dog carrying a flock of ducklings on his back and taking them swimming. 
Although the 9 ducklings do not have a mother, this dog seems to be a real “foster father”, “nanny”.
The ducks, when they sunbathe and hide from the sun, lie down near the feet of the dog Ferd.
